i have pxi scope that uses the NI-Scope as driver. If i create now a program with these functions and later i change the scope to another that has an IVI-Scope-class driver -> will the program still be executable for the other scope? Thanks
Besides my quesion: When i insert the pxi name here then there is no driver listed. Why does it not show a link to NI-Scope if the functions are compatible?
I tried about 10 pxi instruments and none of them were in the list.

If I search Driver Registry by keyword and enter 5114, I get two results: IVI-C driver and IVI.NET driver for NI 5114. You can click on the models listed under the Supported Models column for the IVI-C driver and that will take you to the driver download page. The compliance document can be found under the Instrument Class column.
1. Yes. In MAX, once you create a logical name, you have to associate it with the appropriate driver session. In order to see a driver session in the drop-down list, you first have to install the specific driver (NI-SCOPE).

Yes, NI-SCOPE driver is compliant with the IviScope class. If you have installed the NI-SCOPE driver, please refer to niScopeIVIComplianceDocument.txt.
If you develop an application using the IviScope class driver API, you will be able to interchange one scope with another. However, if you develop an application using NI-SCOPE API, you will not be able to achieve interchangeability. Please refer to http://www.ivifoundation.org/resources/default.aspx to learn more about getting started with IVI.
I am not sure that I understand your question about the driver not being listed. Could you please specify where you were looking for NI-SCOPE driver?

I searched on ivi-foundation ->driver registry -> keywords -> 5114 There is no driver listed. But the driver is NI-Scope.
1.Does this mean i have to select in MAX as driver the NI-Scope and then i can use the instrument with IviScope class driver API?
2.And no matter if i use the "IviScope class driver API" or "NI-SCOPE API" - in both cases i have to install NI-Scope?
Thanks for the links
